Terrific news! The first shipment of products have arrived (Market, Leonard, and Allison) and the first 10+ orders have gone out the door! I’m blown away by the quality - these notebooks are genuinely the best products I’ve ever manufactured. The leather is thick and durable, the stitching is reinforced in all the right places, and the edges are carefully painted with 3 coats of leather edge paint - each notebook is truly built to last a lifetime.

If you ordered a Market, Leonard or Allison and don’t have a Nelson or Winston Portfolio in your order, you can expect your order to ship next week. When your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation tracking number to your email. If you signed up for kickstarter with an Apple protected email, your tracking number may not be delivered.

I’ll keep you all posted on the Winston and Nelson portfolios which should be coming in over the next 2-3 weeks.

Hello Bull and Stash Backers!

First of all, thank you for your tremendous patience as I've worked with our manufacturer to get the quality of the leather, stitching, edge painting, and zippers just right. It sounds ambitious, but my goal with this batch was to produce products that rival Louis Vuitton (or RM Williams for my Aussie backers) in terms of quality craftsmanship – to the point of going into these brands' showrooms and carefully examining each of their wallets and passport holders. This produced some bewildered looks from the showroom assistants. I've been pushing our factory (who also produces leather goods for other well-known luxury brands) to hit this quality bar. They were reluctant at first and didn't think it was possible, but after multiple iterations, and 6+ redline documents, I believe we've hit my mark. The quality is certainly the best of anything that Bull and Stash have ever produced.

This has come at a cost – namely to our timeline. The good news is that the Market, Leonard, Allison, and Winston are fully packaged and in transit to our facility – scheduled to arrive in the next 12 days, pending any hang-ups in the import process. The bad news is that there was a design error in the Nelson Portfolio and the factory is re-making them. They are expecting to finish by 5/25, meaning the Nelson Portfolios will be at our facilities in early-mid June.

If your order includes a Nelson Portfolio with other items, I am planning to wait until I have all the items in your order before shipping, so your order will be shipped in June. I understand I'm behind schedule, so if you would like to swap your Nelson Portfolio out for another product so that I can ship your order sooner, send me a message and I'm happy to make the change.

Finally – if your shipping address has changed since you filled out your survey, please update your shipping address in your Backerkit account before Friday 5/19.

Pre-production samples

Hi Bull & Stash Backers!

It's been a bustling start to the year. Our paper has been printed, cut, and drilled with holes. Our stainless steel hardware has been CNC milled, and now we're down to the most important part: the leather covers that make our notebooks so unique.  

I've been working with our factory to finalize the details of our pre-production samples before heading to final production. Pre-production samples serve as a master template that each finished product is compared to for quality and construction, so getting every detail right at this step is crucial. 

Attention to detail is what makes a Bull and Stash notebook special. Unfortunately, the first round of pre-production samples from the factory did not meet my mark for quality. The factory is working on a second pass to get every detail right, however this has set us back 4 weeks from our original timeline of shipping products mid-march. I'm now expecting the notebooks to arrive to me by April 17th and I'll begin shipping products to backers by April 24th.

Thank you for your patience while I set up our post-campaign survey. I'm using a service called BackerKit and I'm in the final leg of the process with their team as they review the survey before sending it out. Expect the survey to be sent on 1/3/2023, as the BackerKit team is now on holiday break. I'll keep you all posted in case it is sent out sooner!

Once the survey is approved and sent, you’ll receive an email with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s essential to respond to your survey as quickly as possible since we need this information to place our production order and know where to send your rewards.

You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond.
